The socio-technological development of the human environment - the urban environment - the urban ecosystem, has become the subject of new technological, innovative, methodological and sociological studies. At their intersection, there are programs for the construction, regeneration, modernization and transformation of cities. They are based on construction and urban planning technologies, principles and ideas. Their authors are enthusiasts and scientists, politicians and social activists, engineers and entrepreneurs, designers and builders who form the ecological logic of urban development, improvement, consumer preferences, saving attitude towards nature and human achievements, regeneration of the consequences of human life into harmless for nature and useful for mankind. resources
The mission of RuGBC is the integrated efficiency of construction that promotes health, active longevity and the growth of the creative energy of the inhabitants of Russia and ensures the preservation and effective regeneration of natural resources for future generations throughout the entire life cycle of interaction between artificial and natural human habitats.
Purpose and objectives - To promote the modernization of the construction industry in accordance with the principles of ecological construction through the creation of standards, methods, design solutions, the unification of supporters, the comprehensive promotion and popularization of "green" technologies and solutions.
According to the UN, cities account for three-quarters of global emissions. More than two-thirds of the world's energy is consumed in megacities. The population of planet Earth is growing, and the destructive impact of civilization on the environment is increasing. Construction at all stages of construction activity - from the extraction of building materials to the demolition of dilapidated objects - is one of the most powerful anthropogenic factors influencing the natural environment.
Being the most important engine of the economy, construction is at the same time its main product in the form of urbanized territories, highways, energy systems and other types of infrastructure, the construction of which requires huge volumes of various raw materials, building materials, energy, water and other resources, the uncontrolled extraction of which inevitably leads to to ecosystem degradation.
As a result, the areas of green spaces decrease, water and soil are polluted due to industrial emissions and the accumulation of municipal waste, dust, gas and thermal air pollution occur, which leads to a change in the level of radiation, precipitation, changes in air temperatures, wind regime. Construction work directly leads to serious landscape disturbances, changes in soil morphology, the formation of a significant amount of waste, deterioration of hydrological conditions, erosion and other negative environmental effects.
During construction, toxic materials, non-environmental transport, which also damage the ecosystem, can be used. During the operation of the built, a huge amount of energy resources is consumed. That is, by creating cities and settlements, exploiting them traditionally, we are killing the planet.
If we continue to build in the same way, then no struggle for renewable and alternative energy sources will save us. The builders will break the saved future once and for all. What will the coming world be like, and will there be a world?
In 2009, the Russian Green Building Council (RuGBC) was founded, whose task is to develop the green building market in Russia, unite its participants and promote modern technologies and knowledge about them. An important achievement of the Council was the initial filling of the information vacuum in the market. In addition, an important step has been taken to identify and bring together all practitioners in the field of green building, including builders, developers, architects, suppliers and manufacturers of materials, experts and many others.
The initiators of the opening of RuGBC were the researcher and eco-enthusiast Guy Eames, Professor Yuri Tabunshchikov, Professor Marianna Brodach and others who supported the initiative.
In the same year, in the form of an active community, the first professional association of manufacturers of materials and technologies used in ecological construction, GreenStroy, was organized. The GreenStroy Association is a non-profit association that unites Russian manufacturers of building materials and systems to develop integrated solutions in housing construction. "GreenStroy" is an active community, an integrator between specialists from material manufacturers, engineering companies and construction organizations focused on green building using new technologies. The initiator of the opening of GreenStroy was the "green" engineer and public figure Dmitry Berezutsky, with the participation of Rosnano enterprises
As a result of many years of successful cooperation and the creation of a primary green building market in Russia, in 2018 the organizations legally merged into the Green Building Association (Green Building Council), developing GreenStroy and RuGBC, with a focus on real projects and expanding the community of participants and green building advocates.
